We cannot express how important this bottle is to us. While Pineau is not very common outside of France, it is one of our absolute favorite dessert wines in the world. It is made by blending estate produced Cognac eau de vie (unaged Cognac) with lightly fermented grape must (the juice, skins, and stems) pressed from the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. Pineau des Charentes is a delicious, moderately sweet wine, with floral and honeyed accents that come from its time in the barrel. We love enjoying this alone, or using this as the base in stirred cocktails.
